See Ya Later Tower!

We recently said farewell to a well known ride, Tower of Terror. Of course it’s better designed sibling still stands strong in Disney World and I would be truly surprised if they ever changed that one. With the uproar of Disneyland guests still echoing, was Disney right to change ToT? My answer, absolutely!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Tower of Terror as much as the next person. But Disneyland’s version was nothing compared to it’s bigger and better sibling in Hollywood Studio’s. My question to you is did people really love the ride itself or the overlay of the ride? Because how many people can honestly say they have seen the movie that goes with it? Can anyone even name the movie?

*Editor's note, I do know what movie it is and I have in fact seen it.

The reason I ask this is because the ride itself isn’t changing, in fact it is going to be improved! The only difference is the theme of the ride. Close your eyes and ears... you are on the same ride in theory!

I actually am not a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy, I simply cannot bring myself to enjoy the movie! So why am I okay with this new ride concept? Because it means there is something big coming to Disneyland… more Marvel! New rides, new characters, and new experiences are always a plus in my mind. So if we have to say goodbye to a few smaller things to make way for better, why is that such a bad thing? As we all know, Walt famously said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

A lot of the time we become so comfortable with what we have, that innovation does not have the appeal it used to. But with the new concepts and capabilities Disney has created, don’t you want to experience it? The only way to do that is improve what is already available. Plus, if you really miss Tower of Terror, the better version is in Disney World waiting for you. At least in Disneyland you can have as much Marvel as you would like!

As a little girl, I went to Disneyland a few times, but my true love of Disney sparked my freshman year of college. I had the chance to do a quick weekend trip to Disneyland with two friends. During this trip, I fell completely back in love with the entirety of the Walt Disney Company. It was then a few months later, my family ventured to the opposite coast and visited WDW. Here I met a CP, who inspired me to start my own Disney Journey. A few years later, I can’t get enough of Disney (ask anyone who knows me)!

I have been extremely blessed to become a Disneyland AP holder, Walt Disney World AP holder, go on a Disney Cruise, and visit Hong Kong Disneyland. In 2018, I will be visiting Disneyland Paris. I plan on eventually visiting Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

I love all things Disney food, Disney merch, and Disney entertainment. You can usually find me in the park, drinking a coke and waiting for a show or parade. If you ever see me, be sure to say hello! I love making new Disney Friends.
