Good Neighbor Hotel: Castle Inn & Suites Review

Each of my last few Disneyland trips, I have stayed at various off site hotels ranging in location, price, and quality. I much prefer saving money on hotel when visiting Disneyland because that means I can squeeze in more trips in a year's time. This trip, Erica and I found a really great deal at the Castle Inn and Suites for AP holders, the total price for three nights was $414.00. Here are a few details about the hotel to help you decide if it is the right fit for you.

Below images from Get Away Today.

Location | It is within walking distance of the parks, about 7 minutes from the hotel room to security lines at the parks. Not a bad distance at all! It is on the parks side of the resort, you can “see” backstage area of paradise pier area for reference; it’s located on Harbor Blvd. The hotel has parking available for guests if you drive to the area. There aren’t very many restaurants around the hotel directly, you will have to walk down the street to find more food options.

The Hotel | The hotel itself is themed to be very olden day castle style, suits of armor and whatnot. It is not a super large hotel, which makes in more quaint. There are four floors, the doors to rooms are outside, it is not an enclosed building. There is a little convenience store as well in case you forget any park essentials. It was clean, well kept, and the staff was very friendly. Checking in and out was smooth and we did not experience any issues.

The Room | We had a two queen beds style room on the second floor. It was located right across from the stairs and elevator, allowing easy access to get down to the main floor. The hotel isn’t very sound proof, so if you don’t like hearing people early in the morning going to the park, request staying away from that area. The room itself was a decent size, but it was a little dark in its lighting. Opening the curtains would have helped solved this issue, but being right by the elevator, we preferred people not constantly looking into our room. There is a large bathroom area and a closed off area for the shower and toilet. The shower is a little smaller and water pressure is okay, our only complaint is that they only provide “conditioning shampoo” instead of shampoo and conditioner.

The hotel seemed to have a lot of families staying there, so I would say it is most definitely a family-friendly hotel. There is not other transportation to the parks other than walking, but it is very close in my opinion. I would stay here again on future visits, I was overall very happy.

As a little girl, I went to Disneyland a few times, but my true love of Disney sparked my freshman year of college. I had the chance to do a quick weekend trip to Disneyland with two friends. During this trip, I fell completely back in love with the entirety of the Walt Disney Company. It was then a few months later, my family ventured to the opposite coast and visited WDW. Here I met a CP, who inspired me to start my own Disney Journey. A few years later, I can’t get enough of Disney (ask anyone who knows me)!

I have been extremely blessed to become a Disneyland AP holder, Walt Disney World AP holder, go on a Disney Cruise, and visit Hong Kong Disneyland. In 2018, I will be visiting Disneyland Paris. I plan on eventually visiting Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

I love all things Disney food, Disney merch, and Disney entertainment. You can usually find me in the park, drinking a coke and waiting for a show or parade. If you ever see me, be sure to say hello! I love making new Disney Friends.
