Hawaii and Disney are both synonymous with great family vacations that are full of fun, play, and laughs. But now there is a place that combines these two amazing destinations into one beautiful and magical experience for families to enjoy: Disney’s Aulani. My family and I had the great opportunity of vacationing here for a week and it was one trip that I will never forget! (Especially since I got engaged to my true love here!)
The accommodations at Disney’s Aulani, like the resort itself, are totally geared towards families and their comforts. This time around, my family decided to invite along our close family-friends with their kids (ages 1, 6, and 9 years) and my soon-to-be fiance (who at the time was just my boyfriend) so needless to say our usual room with 2 queen beds and a pull-out couch was not going to cover it. We then booked a 2 bedroom villa and it turned out to be the perfect size and room for our party.
As you walk in through the door, you are greeted by a spacious kitchen that includes a full size fridge/freezer, a stove, a microwave, sink with a dishwasher, rice cooker, table with chairs and every sort of eating and silverware imaginable. For a group with a baby, this was a welcome sight, especially with a high chair provided as well.
One bedroom featured 2 queen size beds, a big closet, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet attached and the other master bedroom featured a king-size bed, whirlpool tub and open glass shower. Both bedrooms allowed each family privacy and enough room to unpack our suitcases and get ready for dinner or the day. The master bedroom also had enough room to store the included pack-and-play for the baby to sleep and nap in, which for our friends was a welcome addition!
In the living room, the couch and sofa chair both pulled out into beds complete with sheets and pillows for the boys to sleep in.
The beds and living areas were a perfect, open space for our loud and energetic family to spend time together in while also allowing privacy for when it was time to start counting sheep. However, that was not the best part! Our villa also included a patio that stretched the length of our rooms which allowed us to sit out and watch the sunset over the trees and also watch Aulani’s exclusive luau offered on property to guests! We didn’t even have to pay extra to see a fantastic luau because it was right in our backyard!
Disney sure knows how to provide for their guests comfort and convenience while staying on their properties and Aulani was no exception. My family and I like to say that Disney has made us spoiled because they provided for their guests an experience that competitors just can’t beat: family-minded accommodations with a dose a Disney magic and aloha service.
