On The Go Dining Package: Fantasmic!

As you may know by now, I am a huge fan of dining packages at Disney parks. And Disney has taken it even a step further and added more convenience to the dining package. This fancy little package provides you a great location for viewing a show but packages your meal up and sends you with it to eat at your convenience and choice of location. We recently enjoyed this dining package option for the show Fantasmic!

It is easy to book and must be done in advance online via Disneyland’s website. You will select a time and this will indicate when you go and place your order/pick up your meal. If there are two showings of Fantasmic, they will distribute tickets for the first show until it is filled and then distribute for the second show. Typically if you booked a time before 6-7pm, you will get tickets for the first show and after that you will get them for the second showing. If there is only one show, everyone gets the same viewing time.

The Hungry Bear Restaurant is where you will be getting your food from. Make your way over to Frontierland during your allotted time and there will be a specific line for dining packages. They will distribute menus to those in line so you can pick your meal before reaching the cash register.

The menu has a unique twist on BBQ, but if there is nothing you are loving on the dining package menu, you can opt for something from the restaurants regular menu. Your package includes a can of Blue Sky Soda, your meal and your preferred viewing ticket. We placed our orders at the register and the total comes out to $29.99 per person before tax and discounts.

Each member of our group ordered something different, so we sampled 3 different items. We had the salmon, the pork riblets and the chicken sandwich from the regular menu. While our meals were decent, the best by far was the riblets. It is a blackberry bbq sauce served over a wild rice medley. And the Blue Sky Soda was a winner in all our books, it is made with cane sure. YUM!

After placing your order, they package it up right there and send you on your way with utensils, the food and your dining tickets. Do not lose the ticket or you won’t be able to go into your viewing area! We ended up eating right at the restaurant since we were hungry.

Our tickets were for the second viewing of Fantasmic! The entrance to the viewing area is right next to the Mark Twain boat loading dock. We arrived about 30 minutes early and they had just opened the seating area. Now this area is required to sit in, you are not able to stand. As we were the first let in, we were front and center to the show. The Blue Bayou dining package is right next to the on the go dining package viewing, with a more direct center view. Both are can’t be beat views!

The show as always was incredible and it was so fun to be front and center to the show! While the food was not my favorite choice, the price can’t be beat for a view like that. So if you aren’t feeling like spending $60 a person on a Blue Bayou dining package, check out the Hungry Bear Restaurant on the go dining package!

As a little girl, I went to Disneyland a few times, but my true love of Disney sparked my freshman year of college. I had the chance to do a quick weekend trip to Disneyland with two friends. During this trip, I fell completely back in love with the entirety of the Walt Disney Company. It was then a few months later, my family ventured to the opposite coast and visited WDW. Here I met a CP, who inspired me to start my own Disney Journey. A few years later, I can’t get enough of Disney (ask anyone who knows me)!

I have been extremely blessed to become a Disneyland AP holder, Walt Disney World AP holder, go on a Disney Cruise, and visit Hong Kong Disneyland. In 2018, I will be visiting Disneyland Paris. I plan on eventually visiting Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

I love all things Disney food, Disney merch, and Disney entertainment. You can usually find me in the park, drinking a coke and waiting for a show or parade. If you ever see me, be sure to say hello! I love making new Disney Friends.
