Good Neighbor Hotel: The Anaheim Hotel Review

As much fun as it is to stay on property when visiting Disneyland, it isn’t always the most respectable option for your wallet. Luckily, there are several hotels around within walking distance that we love to stay at. Recently, we had the chance to stay at a new (to us) location—The Anaheim Hotel.

the Location

Located on Harbor Boulevard, it is a short walk to the entrance of the parks. As we walked out of the lobby, we were facing the backside of a bugs land. It would take about 5-7 minutes to get to security lines, depending on how long we had to wait at the light to cross. It is also located right next to a Pizza Press, so food is easily accessible. There is parking available for guests if you drive and they also allow park guests to park there for $20 during the day.

The Hotel

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! The reviews on Google and Yelp were promising, but it seemed that hotel was a little older. As we walked into the lobby, we were taken aback with the fun and unique theme of this hotel. It is vintage meets modern and has been recently remodeled. There is a bar area, front desk and a hallway to lead to the buildings outside.

Once outside, there are several building that are 2 floors each. There is also a pool, a gym, a laundry room and an outside patio area. The buildings themselves are a little run down, but have been maintained well enough. What the hotel lacks in new, they make up for in guest service. There was one night we needed extra towels. We called the front desk around midnight and within 10 minutes of talking to them, we had extra towels that were warm in our hands!

The Room

The room itself was smaller, so larger families beware of this. There was a cute outside patio off of our room that was fenced off and private. The beds were comfortable and clean. The pressure in the shower was not fantastic, but worked well enough for us. There is a mini-fridge, a microwave, a TV and a safe for guest use. We did wish the room had more plugs around, but we were able to manage. It felt clean and welcoming and we were overall happy with it!

If we had to give this hotel an overall rating, I would give it a 7 out of 10. The rooms are a little run down, but they truly try to make the guest feel welcome and provide anything needed. So the next time you are looking for a hotel within walking distance to Disneyland, be sure to check this property out!

As a little girl, I went to Disneyland a few times, but my true love of Disney sparked my freshman year of college. I had the chance to do a quick weekend trip to Disneyland with two friends. During this trip, I fell completely back in love with the entirety of the Walt Disney Company. It was then a few months later, my family ventured to the opposite coast and visited WDW. Here I met a CP, who inspired me to start my own Disney Journey. A few years later, I can’t get enough of Disney (ask anyone who knows me)!

I have been extremely blessed to become a Disneyland AP holder, Walt Disney World AP holder, go on a Disney Cruise, and visit Hong Kong Disneyland. In 2018, I will be visiting Disneyland Paris. I plan on eventually visiting Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

I love all things Disney food, Disney merch, and Disney entertainment. You can usually find me in the park, drinking a coke and waiting for a show or parade. If you ever see me, be sure to say hello! I love making new Disney Friends.
