While living in Florida on my Disney College Program, I had the amazing experience of being able to spread magic and pixie dust as a Fairy Godmother-in-Training! At my job, I learned a lot about hair, make-up, and how to love with your whole heart as I was transforming little girls into princesses. I also learned the many ins and outs of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as well as the dos and don'ts. So today I would like the share some tips of what to expect and how to make the most out of your princess’ next Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience!
Reservation, Reservation, Reservation
First things first, make a reservation beforehand to ensure that you will get an appointment that works with your Disney trip schedule. Spots fill up pretty quickly, especially at the Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle location so be sure to make your reservation at least 90 days in advance. This will ensure that you will have time secure for your princess to get all done up for her day of fun at the parks. The Boutique does take walk-ins but only at specific times when there aren’t a lot of appointments scheduled which is normally at night close to closing time at 7pm. So to make sure that you don’t miss out on your opportunity for your princess, make a reservation as soon as possible!
Pick Your Package
After making the reservation, decide what kind of package you would like to purchase ahead of time. If you decide to upgrade your package when you get to your appointment, just let the front desk Fairy Godmother in-training know and they can get you fixed up. Each package is different depending on which one you pick. The Crown Package just features the hairstyling, make-up, nails, princess cinch bag and sash. The Courtyard Package features everything in the Crown Package except it adds on a BBB t-shirt and tutu for the princess to wear. The Castle Package features everything in the Crown package except it adds the choice of princess dress, wand, and crown. All are great options that will have your princess looking ready for her ball!
Once you have arrived at your appointment with your princess in tow, keep in mind that your wait time might be longer than expected due to running behind schedule or a busy number of appointments. It is wise then to make sure that you don’t plan anything like dinner reservations or Fastpasses super close to your appointment. Most transformations take 30 minutes to one hour but just to be safe and to ensure that you aren’t late for any important dates, plan out one to one and a half hours for your transformation. For an every better schedule, if possible, make your reservation in the morning or early afternoon so that your princess can be all dolled up for your entire day of fun at the parks!
Here are a couple of last minute tips to make your experience fun, easy, and stress-free for you and your princess.
Bring your own comb/brush if necessary: if your princess has a particularly soft scalp or has thick, easily tangled hair, bring a brush from home to help when your Fairy Godmother-in-training is combing out your princess’ locks. As part of the hair-dos, Fairy Godmothers-in-training wet the hair to make it easier to comb and style, so if your princess’ hair tangles easy, it will be less painful to use a brush than a comb.
Make sure and tell your Fairy Godmother in training if you are celebrating a birthday or any other special occasion so they can ensure that it is recognized with a fun, pixie-dusted Disney pin.
HAVE FUN and enjoy the experience by talking to your Fairy Godmother-in-training! Ask her to tell you and your princess stories about her Disney Princess friends. Fairy Godmothers LOVE telling stories and I’m sure they will dive right into the story of when the Seven Dwarfs brought jewels from their diamond mine to help make the tiaras. A godmother’s job is to make her princess happy and feel beautiful with as many stories and sprinkling of pixie dust as it takes!
